Scarborough is one of the most famous coastal towns in the UK, located along the coast of Yorkshire. It is know mostly for its’ beautiful Sandy Bay, located on the North Sea. Scarborough, unlike other areas in the UK, is not very historical. It is mostly a seaside resort area for the whole family, with attractions that you would expect in a resort area.
Families will find much to do in Scarborough. As with most coastal cities, there are numerous outlets, arcades, restaurants and other coastal attractions. You can also, of course, relax on the beach with the kids and play in the water if it is the right time of year.
If you get sick of doing the normal resort activities, and want to wind down and relax, there are many beautiful sites to explore. There are numerous cliffs to peruse, and tons of hiking to do to keep you busy. Once again, though, if you want to bask in the rich culture of the UK, Scarborough is not the place for you at all. It is definitely a place made for tourists, so if you feel like being a tourist for a while, Scarborough is the town for you.
If you happen to be in Scarborough for a long period of time, and have a day when you are sick of being a tourist, there are a couple historical things you can do. Scarborough Castle is a really cool attraction if you like castles, and there is also an art museum called the Rotunda Museum if you are an art lover.
