Catering services and catering companies have been around for years but only in the last few years have the UK public embraced the idea on a smaller scale.  As the recent economic dip has taken hold catering companies have been forced to change the services they over to a smaller scale and offer their services for events on a much smaller scale. Some companies within the UK especially within the larger cities such as London, Manchester, Liverpool and Birmingham are looking at the areas of business they would have never considered before. This has required a lower level of staffing sometimes for a similar amount of guests to try and boost profits and stay one step ahead.

The summer months are obviously the busiest time of the year as events are held inside and outside especially wedding and birthdays and catering companies have seen a sharp increase in business and have therefore targeted these markets more than they would have before.
