Snowdonia

Located in the United Kingdom, Snowdonia can be found in the Northern area of Wales, which is west of England and east of the Atlantic Ocean and the Irish Sea. Snowdonia is an exciting place to visit. There is a large variety of activities and adventures.

Built in the thirteenth century, the Harlech Castle is a historical site to visit. The Harlech Castle sits on the edge of the rocks overlooking the sea and its breathtaking territory. To this day, the castle?s huge towers and walls remain standing close to their original height.

Looking for fun for the whole family? Then be sure to visit the Greenwood Forest Park. The Greenwood Forest Park is an amusement park filled with rides, entertainment, and fun. There are several attractions for the little ones to explore. Some of them include Treetop Towers, Tunnel Warren, the Toddler Village and a playground. Some of the attractions for the older kids and the young at heart include: the Barefoot Trail, Crocodile Maze, the thrilling Green Dragon Roller Coaster, the Jungle Boat Adventure, Moon Karts, the Giant Jumper, and the awesome Great Green Run (a popular sled ride).

One of the most popular attractions in Snowdonia is the Snowdon Mountain Railway. This breathtaking experience starts at the Llanberis Station. As the train travels up the mountain, it will travel across a bridge revealing an incredible waterfall and a primeval oak forest. The train will then sail through the wide open spaces of the serene country. The train will climb over thirty five hundred feet before reaching the tallest summit in Wales.

Explore a slate mine. Take a tour at the Llechwedd Slate Caverns of Blaenau Ffestiniog. The Llechwedd Slate Caverns have two tours available. The first one is the Miners? Tramway Tour. Visitors go back to the nineteenth century as they become acquainted with the sounds and sights of a mining environment as they travel through a maze of stunning cathedral like chambers. The second tour is the Deep Mine Tour which takes visitors on a walk far below the surface to a magnificent underground lake.
