Leeds

Leeds is a city in West Yorkshire, England. It is located 190 miles north-northwest of central London. Leeds weather is very typical of the British Isles, and has very little variation in temperature during the year. This makes it the perfect holiday spot.

Leeds is home to a variety of historic buildings and museums. A visitor can stroll through Leeds on their own or they can take a guided tour. The Leeds Art Gallery was established in 1888. Bronte Parsonage Museum is the former home of Charlotte and Emily Bronte . This 19th century home now showcases a collection of family artifacts. Emily Bronte wrote ‘Wuthering Heights’ while living in the home.

The Leeds and Liverpool Canal took 46 years to construct. It was completed in 1816 and is a wonder to see. It is a very popular recreation site today. Walking along the canal, a visitor will encounter many quaint restaurants and pubs. It makes for a pleasant evening stroll.

Leeds is also the home to its very own University. University of Leeds is steeped in local lore and roots. It is also highly regarded in the international world. The university is over 100 years old.
