Unfortunately I had to take the coach to London and back every night, so most of it was spent in a coach, but it was still a lot of fun. On Friday night we went to see Measure for Measure, which is a Shakespeare “Problem Play” as it is hard to classify. It was really well done, and we got to see it at an apparently prestigious theater, however because of the school budget our whole class was scattered throughout the theater and we were all behind poles. But the play was really well done, it was set in a modern context and it actually opened up with strippers which was really interesting, It was really funny to see my English prof’s face when that happened! Anyway after the play we headed back to the castle, and for me only to be up bright and early again to go to the Churchill War Cabinet Rooms which were really impressive. The complex was built during the WWII for Churchill and a Cabinet of initially 5 men, but later it grew to 8, done so so speed up the decision making process during the war. The Cabinet was located in a converted basement close to Parliament. Because of it’s location it was very susceptible to bombing and despite attempts at reinforcement, a direct hit would have killed anyone inside. So the facility relied on …
