The UK is an interesting country to visit because there are so many historical sites within the beautiful countryside to visit. But if you prefer the city life, there are 5 star hotels, delicious restaurants and the exciting nightlife to enjoy. You really do not need a reason to visit the UK. You can take a weekend, a week or a month and just spend time travelling across the country, and seeing the sites. To visit many of the landmarks there is a pass, the Great Britain Heritage Pass, which will give you entrance into over 600 castles, palaces, stately gardens, and other historical landmarks. The flavor of the UK is eclectic, both historical, as well as up-to-date 21st century.
As you tour from town to town, part of the fun of traveling around the countryside is staying in different and unique accommodations that UK is noted for. Because of the charm of the England, there are many different places to find accommodations for the night. Of course, if you prefer the Hilton or Marriot they are available in all the cities and you can treat yourself to a spa/whirlpool suite.
But if you are somewhat adventurous, and even a little bit inquisitive, you can search and find some of the authentic housing that is signature England. Most of the B&B?s are online, but if you?d like to enhance your trip with some of the local culture, there are some unique and quaint places waiting for you and your family. The UK is famous for charming English accommodations and some of these local places include Bed & Breakfasts, guest houses, cottages, holiday homes, vacation rentals, castles, home stays, holiday parks, apartments, and Hostels. Most all of these lodgings can be found online and all of them receive walk-ins, if there is room!
Most Americans who travel to England or Ireland are not very creative when it comes to their overnight stays, and they simply reserve hotel rooms from their homes in the states, with the internet, and that is very easy to do. But once you get ?across the pond,? it is fun to try some of the exciting, and not so usual accommodations that the English are famous for. After a day spent investigating historical sites, look around the area for a bed and breakfast, or a castle that houses overnight, and try one of those for the night. The kids will love it, or what a romantic way to spend a weekend!
By being creative with your accommodations, your vacation turns into an experience and you?ll enjoy your holiday in a different way. You?ll find charming and quaint accommodations, with restaurants inside or close by that serve delicious home-style food, typically English. Not to worry though, the UK is not so big that when you?re ready to get back into the city, for some five star hotels and the nightlife, you?re just short trip away. The UK a perfect and unique place to spend your vacation or holiday!
